If a tour departure is cancelled due to New Zealand government Covid-19 travel restrictions, Earthlore will transfer your deposit to a future tour date of your choosing.

If your tour is not affected by Covid-19 restrictions our standard cancellation conditions apply.

Tour price & confirmation
Tour prices are quoted in $NZ.
New Zealand GST (Goods & Services Tax) of 15% is included in tour costs.
Full payment of the tour cost confirms your booking and acknowledges your agreement to our terms and conditions.
Terms of business are by prepayment of all tour costs.

Cancellation policy
Cancellation fees depend on when Earthlore receives notification of a cancellation:

Bookings cancelled further out than 30 days of tour departure will receive 100% refund.
Bookings cancelled within 30 days or less of tour departure will receive 50% refund of tour cost.

Bookings cancelled between 2 to 7 days of tour departure will receive 10% refund of tour cost.

Bookings cancelled within 24 hour or less of tour departure will receive no refund.

Earthlore reserves the right to cancel tours due to weather or any other reason. If Earthlore cancels a tour, a full refund will be given.
Partial refunds may be made after a tour has commenced but only at Earthlore’s discretion.
Tour payment
Payment is to be made through the Rezdy booking link on our website. Merchant facilities available via our website booking system including Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

Prices
All holiday prices are based on schedules, fares and tariffs current at the time of quotation. Earthlore reserves the right to vary the cost of tours if necessary, by reason of currency fluctuation, or component cost increase. Tour costing will be guaranteed at the price prevailing at the date of final payment.

Smoking Laws
Smoking is not permitted in any licensed premises (bars, restaurants, cafes, casinos, etc) throughout New Zealand. At Earthlore smoking is only permitted in designated areas. Ask to be directed to a smoking area. Outside of Earthlore, smoking is not permitted at any of the bush walks and/or reserves visited during the tour unless expressly specified by an Earthlore staff member. These smoking restrictions extend to vaping also.

Travel Insurance
To safeguard your tour payment in the event of your having to cancel your reservation, curtail your tour or to cover you for anything unforeseen while you are in New Zealand you must hold a comprehensive travel insurance policy. This is a condition of participation in any Earthlore New Zealand tour.

By the nature of the act there is a small risk of physical injury. See our Risk Assessment and Management Plans for further details

Liability

Earthlore New Zealand Tours will not be liable for the sickness of, injury to, or death of, any passenger, or the loss of, or damage to, any personal effects, whether caused by Earthlore New Zealand Tour’s negligence or otherwise.

Health, Fitness and Behaviour
Payment of the deposit by the client(s) to Earthlore New Zealand acts as a warranty that the client(s) is/are reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in the tour and the client(s) indemnifies Earthlore New Zealand from all actions, claims and demands arising out of any want of health and fitness. Earthlore New Zealand reserves the right to remove a client from a tour if their health, fitness or behavior interferes with the tour or other client(s) tour experience in any way.

Accommodation and activities
Occasionally Earthlore may need to make a variation to the listed accommodation. This accommodation will be of the same standard or best available alternative. Earthlore reserves the right to amend/alter an itinerary where necessary.

Dispute
The law of this contract is the law of New Zealand.

Refund
Please note that no refund shall be made for any unused portion of any itinerary. Any alteration to the holiday, made by a client(s), shall be wholly at the expense of that client(s).

Holiday Duration
The first and last day of most structured holidays is considered a travelling day and therefore depending on flight times may not necessarily be a whole day.

Force Majeure
Except where otherwise expressly stated in these booking conditions we regret that we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances amounting to “force majeure”. In these booking conditions, ‘force majeure’ means any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war or threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control.

Use of Imagery
Earthlore New Zealand reserves the right to use photographs or videos taken during tours for promotional purposes.  This may include, but is not limited to use online, in printed material or at public events.
