Earthlore is teeming with bird life. There are six breeding pair of Tui, four breeding pair of Kereru (native woodpigeon) and numerous bellbirds who live here all year round along with a number of fantail, grey warbler and the occasional shining cuckoo. A pair of quail pay us a visit from time to time too so bring your camera for some excellent photo opportunities.
Excellent place. Run by a friendly couple. Inspector insector is very knowledgeable. It was just us there that day and we still got the full tour and experience, plus some more detailed advice on garden insects and plants. The gardens are interesting for adults too.
What a wonderful surprise! We took a wide range of ages of kids from 2 years old to 42 and all had a great time. An educational treasure hunt. I am going to suggest to our local primary school that we should visit as it would be brilliant as a school trip. Bugs, butterflies, spiders, birds,...
